Pregnancy is full of paradoxes- from battling awful nausea with food cravings and a raging appetite, to coping with the excitement and anxiety of bringing new life into the world. Another paradoxical situation I faced was with my skin. I began to notice that my skin was producing more oil than usual, while other parts of my skin began to feel dry and stretchy.

I thought I was the only one dealing with this weird situation until I learned that this was a very common symptom among pregnant women. All those hormones going crazy definitely reflected on our skin as well.

Most moisturizers would either leave my skin feeling parched and tight while others were just too heavy, giving my skin a greasy, dull look that I definitely wasn’t digging! To make things worse, most moisturizers weren’t certified safe for pregnancy and contained potentially harmful ingredients that I wouldn’t want anywhere near me and my baby.

When I swapped my skincare routine for Orimii’s pregnancy-safe skincare products, I set my hopes on the Orimii Weightless Hydration Cloud Cream for 3 reasons:

  • It’s formulated with ingredients that are completely safe for pregnant and lactating women so I didn’t need to worry about any harm.
  • Its name is cloud cream. Clouds! Who doesn’t want to rub a cloud on their skin? Everything about clouds just sounds so refreshing and light, that I immediately knew the texture of this product would be worth trying.
  • It contains super hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid that promise a rich dose of hydration, something my skin desperately needed.

The Orimii website describes the product to be a “unique gel-cream formula that transforms into moisture-filled drops of water when it meets thirsty skin & delivers a refreshing boost of lasting hydration.” That description alone was enough to convince me that this cream can single-handedly solve every single problem in my life!

Unboxing & First Impression

The packaging truly speaks for itself here. The cream comes packaged in the cutest little roundish container that looks more like a collectible than a skincare product.

The box contains all the details about the ingredients and how to use the product. The container feels light and sturdy while the twist-on lid along with the extra protective lid inside keeps the cream secure, preventing spillage and messy leaks.

Ingredients

The star ingredient in this fluffy dream cream is hyaluronic acid- aka dry skin paradise thanks to its incredible ability to hold over a thousand times its own weight in water. The cream also contains cloudberry extract, licorice root extract, sea buckthorn oil, and rose oil, all super beneficial ingredients when it comes to moisturizing the skin. The cream also contains peppermint and menthol, which gives the product a cooling effect when applied to the skin.

Texture & Application

Just as the name describes, this product’s texture is truly like a weightless cloud! Trust me, I’ve used watery gels and buttery lotions, but this cream is truly unlike anything else. It has the slip and moisturizing power of a cream while its lightweight texture sinks into the skin like a dream (that rhyme was not intentional but I suppose amazing skincare products bring out the poet in me). I absolutely love how it looks like a creamy, luscious pudding that transforms into a light watery gel when applied onto the skin. The gentle cooling sensation is a welcome relief from the heat and humidity. Within seconds of rubbing the product into my skin, I can feel its refreshing properties work its magic.

Results

I’ve used the cream as my moisturizer twice a day every day for the past two weeks and I don’t intend to stop. This beautiful product is just the right texture for my skin. It’s light enough to not make my skin look greasy while being hydrating enough to completely get rid of any dryness. It’s non-comedogenic, which is a very important factor for people with acne-prone skin like mine. I enjoy using this cream on my hands and feet as well- the texture is just so light and absorbs so quickly that I no longer want to reach for heavy, suffocating moisturizers that sit on top of my skin.

Verdict

The Orimii Weightless Hydration Cloud Cream is a must-have for anyone looking for a light yet deeply hydrating moisturizer, regardless of whether they’re pregnant or not.
