Cleansers aren’t usually the favourite part of my skincare routine. Don’t get me wrong- cleansing is super important! But compared to fancy serums, relaxing sheet masks, and decadent moisturizers, they’re simply not as glamorous. Maybe it’s just me, but on some days, I’d much rather sleep than deal with washing my face after a long and exhausting day of simply being pregnant. Ever since I discovered that I was expecting, my body and emotions went through what seemed like a chain reaction of side effects. From nausea and fatigue in the first trimester to heartburn and insomnia in the third, my changing body left no stone unturned in its efforts to remind me that I’m growing a little human inside me. Of course, my skin wasn’t far behind, as I soon had to deal with acne, dry patches, excess oil production, and dullness. My skincare routine began to feel like a balancing act between trying to keep my skin fresh and clean while not drying it out and irritating my skin barrier at the same time. Spoiler alert: I was failing! When I swapped my entire skincare routine to Orimii’s pregnancy-friendly skincare products, the first emotions I felt were absolute relief and gratitude. Relief knowing that I no longer needed to worry about the ingredients in the skincare I use, and gratitude for having finally come across a brand that truly understood the unique skin concerns this confused mama-to-be was dealing with. |

The Orimii Gentle Facial Gel Clay Cleanser is the first item I tried, for obvious reasons. Remember how I started this article talking about how I find cleansers boring? Well, watch me eat my words because this cleanser completely changed that perception for me! |

Unboxing & First Impression One look at the adorable packaging was all it took to have me head over heels in love! The rounded edges and handy size make for a perfect visual first impression. The cleanser comes with a pump nozzle and a sturdy lid, making it perfect for travel and for those clumsy pregnancy moments we all experience! Ingredients Formulated with soothing and mattifying pink kaolin clay and oatmeal along with powerful plant-based extracts such as ginseng, sage, elderberry, and chestnut rose, this mild, soap-free facewash really packs a punch. I love how it doesn’t contain harsh surfactants such as SLS, making it perfect for even the most sensitive skin types. Texture & Application Just as the name describes, the product has a light, gel texture that is slightly runny and has a hint of pink, probably because of the pink kaolin clay content. The fragrance is mild and pleasing, which is very important to me because I can’t stand strong, irritating fragrances in skincare products. The cleanser forms a very mild lather when mixed with water. Some of us tend to assume that less lather means poor cleansing power but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The lather is super gentle yet does a tremendous job of cleansing oil, dirt, and sweat (heat flashes, anyone?), leaving my skin feeling delightfully fresh and clean without the horrid tightness associated with harsh cleansers. For pregnant women who wake up feeling icky like I do, this cleanser is perfect for a quick morning rinse. Results I generally don’t expect long-term results from cleansers- their primary job is to keep my face clean and that’s pretty much it. But with the Orimii Gentle Facial Gel Clay Cleanser, I could actually sense my skin’s oil production balance out. My face would stay fresh and oil-free for longer periods of time than before, which is nothing short of a miracle. Balanced oil production also meant fewer breakouts and that’s definitely something to celebrate! Verdict From its cute packaging to its truly effective cleansing abilities, the Orimii Gentle Facial Gel Clay Cleanser has clearly been formulated to win hearts. |
